These are the original blueprints! We have changed a few things around from this.  Will expand on this as I get more pictures.

Cutting Concrete To Lay Plumbing

This part of the renovation has proved to be VERY difficult! But not a job to big for the amazing crew at Extreme Industries at extremeindustriesga.com !  TJ is the owner of this company and has been amazing and a wealth of knowledge for this project! He is a perfectionist and his work is impeccable.  He has poured the driveway and literally has everything to do with anything concrete.  They had to cut through the existing concrete flooring to lay the plumbing.  It took 4 blades, 3 respirator masks, and a lot of hard work to accomplish this job!

The Upstairs Framing is Complete!

They have completed the framing of the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms and loft! Yay!! Looks so amazing!  We have changed a bit from the blueprint since a few items made more sense.

Best part of the project!!! A trail that leads to my mom's house!!!!!

So I saved this part until I could get a picture.  My mom lives in the white house that you can barely see in the distance!  The property backs up to hers!  I am sooooo happy that Jay and I can be right there with her! We are making a trail so that we can go back and forth quickly and easily!  Since my dad passed away,  it bothers me every second that my mom is alone.  My cousin Doug came to live with her for a while when he was working in Georgia, but had to return to Alaska.  Soon I will be comforted by the fact that she can jump in her golf cart and cruise on over!

Bedrooms, Closets, and Bathrooms...Oh My!

They have framed the first upstairs bedroom and bath!!! I am now starting to really see how things are going to look!  Both bedrooms upstairs will have their own bathroom.

The closet situation had to be addressed in these bedrooms.  They were drawn on the plans a certain way and when they got in there and framed them we realized that they were going to make the room look really off center. So we had to play with a few ideas and finally came to the conclusion of having a shorter closet built into the angled ceiling wall.  This way we wouldn't lose any space in the room and keep it centered.

The bathroom that goes with this bedroom will have to be accessed from outside the room.  We did that because we wanted one bathroom upstairs for people to use while hanging out in the loft without having to go through a bedroom.

The loft area is going to be so neat!!  Jay is going to put his pool table in this area.  I love the guys that are working on this!!  They pay such close attention to the details! They know I like a lot of space and height so they moved the slats up five inches to raise the ceiling!

In the other bedroom there are barn doors that we are absolutely in love with. We obviously can't use them as doors as there are no windows in them,  but we had to find a way to use them.  So I spoke to our contractor and we are going to hang them on the outside of that room on the house! YAY!

Framing up the Joint!

So many decisions!  Goodness... I think oblivion really is bliss!  I had NO IDEA how much time I was going to have to put into this project!  Don't get me wrong... I am not complaining! This is by far the most exciting project I have ever done...just very time consuming.  The options are really unlimited and I am having a really hard time trying to stay in budget!  I have some of the best carpenters around heading this and it is really hard not to let them go crazy!

We are running into some problems with the concrete flooring.  The way it was poured previously is totally uneven from room to room.  Apparently it is worse case scenario, so they are going to have to pour a two inch overlay to get everything even.  You want to make sure it is all even or your flooring will be uneven. That was a hit to the budget.  Oh well..gotta expect a few snags! The good news is that having the vapor barrier there already has offset the cost of the overlay a little bit.

The framing is moving quickly and I am so excited everyday to go see the progress!
